The Gloster Fancy Canary Council International (GFCCI) has been established to serve as the international authority dedicated to the preservation, promotion, and development of the Gloster Fancy Canary worldwide.
The Gloster Fancy
The Gloster Fancy brings together breeders, exhibitors and enthusiasts from around the world, united by an appreciation of this distinctive canary. Recognised for its compact shape and characteristic appearance, the breed has two complementary forms: the crested “Corona” and the plain-headed “Consort”.
For the Gloster Fancy Canary Council International (GFCCI), preserving the breed’s identity goes hand in hand with supporting the people who care for its future. The Council promotes a shared understanding of the Gloster Fancy through education, international cooperation and guidance on its standard and exhibition.
Our work connects clubs, Councillors, judges and breeders across countries, encouraging the exchange of knowledge and experience. By supporting consistent interpretation of the standard and informed judging, we aim to help both established enthusiasts and newcomers develop their understanding of the breed.
Responsible breeding, good husbandry and the welfare of the birds underpin this shared commitment. Preserving the Gloster Fancy means valuing healthy birds alongside the qualities that define the breed.
This section provides access to the “Gloster Standard”, guidance on “The Show Cage” and educational articles to support learning and discussion throughout our international community.
The Gloster Fancy is our shared heritage. Through cooperation and dedication, we can preserve its distinctive qualities and inspire the generations who will carry it forward.
